Natural gas
Natural gas is a naturally occurring mixture of gaseous hydrocarbons consisting primarily of methane, in addition to various smaller amounts of other higher alkanes.
Energy production, heating and industrial purposes.
Natural gas is a fossil fuel and non-renewable resource that is formed when layers of organic matter decompose under anaerobic conditions and are subjected to intense heat and pressure underground over millions of years.
The energy that the decayed organisms originally obtained from the sun via photosynthesis is stored as chemical energy within the molecules of methane and other hydrocarbons.
Natural gas can be burned for heating, cooking, and electricity generation. It is also used as a chemical feedstock in the manufacture of plastics and other commercially important organic chemicals and less commonly used as a fuel for vehicles.
Efficient
Energy source
An economical, environmentally friendly, and efficient energy source, natural gas is the cleanest-burning conventional fuel, producing lower levels of greenhouse gas emissions than heavier hydrocarbon fuels such as coal and oil.
Historically, natural gas has also been one of the most economical energy sources. Natural gas fuels electric power generators, heats buildings, and is used as a raw material in many consumer products, such as those made of traditional plastics.
Semberina Refinery has the capabilities to meet the challenge of developing resources and delivering natural gas to markets where its use is growing. The gas processing plant processes a wide range of gases, such as LPG and LNG.
Semberina Refinery uses the latest technologies to develop the full spectrum of natural gas products, from conventional pipeline gas to liquefied natural gas to gas-to-liquids. We have a highly integrated gas business with expertise in every aspect of developing natural gas.
Trading
Natural gas
Semberina Gas Processing Plant has a leading position in marketing and trading natural gas in Europe. LNG demand is expected to continue to grow at around 10-15% per annum for the next few years, with growth in all major markets, and we believe we are well positioned to capture growth opportunities.
Semberina Gas Processing Plant comes with proprietary gas-to-liquid technology.
Understanding natural gas
Natural gas is a combustible gas consisting mainly of highly flammable methane (CH4). It also contains nitrogen (N2) and small amounts of other hydrocarbons such as ethane, propane and butane, as well as traces of helium, and in some cases hydrogen sulfide.
We have the experience and commitment to deliver a diverse network of energy supplies. Our people are accomplished at energy marketing and trading.
Sales offer
Drawing on our vast experience in crude oil marketing and trading, Semberina Gas Processing plant is able to offer natural gas and related services directly to commercial customers, such as utilities and industry.
What we supply
We supply more than 385 business customers, from international merchants to individual industrial and commercial clients, creating a vital link between the source of the energy and the end-user.
LPG
LPG is used as a fuel gas in heating appliances, cooking equipment, and vehicles. It is increasingly used as an aerosol propellant and a refrigerant
LNG
The natural gas fed into the LNG plant will be treated to remove water, hydrogen sulfide, carbon dioxide, benzene and other components that will freeze under the low temperatures needed for storage or be destructive to the liquefaction facility.
Dry gas
Dry gas is gas that at regular pressure and temperature does not contain any liquid components. It consists mainly of methane.
Wet gas
Wet gas contains both dry gas and heavier hydrocarbon compounds in a liquid phase. In addition to ethane, this means propane, butane.
Shale gas
The natural gas and oil found in shale and other tight rock formations are the same as the oil and gas found in other rock strata
